Porsche 996 1st Grand Challenge 2008 Porsche Almeras by Spark
Another French subject and it appears to be a Porsche Cup car of some description. The packaging celebrates driver Romain Dumas and links us to his website where we find that the Grand Challenge event was actually a mixed surface rally event which the versatile and successful sports car ace won against several WRC cars that were theoretically better suited to the event. The car was prepared by the Almeras brothers and makes for an unusual Porsche subject, a modern rally winner.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
