Lancia Beta Montecarlo DRM 1980 #51 by Spark
There were two DRM races at Zolder in 1980 and Hans Heyer finished second in Division 2 in both of them. This is from the first race, which was the season opener and saw GS Sport’s newly acquired car appear in white with Fruit of the Loom sponsorship. It would be repainted blue for the rest of the season. Photos of the later versions are much easier to come by but from the couple of angles that we’ve found the decoration looks accurate here and the modelling is very neatly executed, particularly around the lights, grille and rear window area.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
