Porsche 904 1st Japan 1964 #1 by Spark
Shikiba Soukichi and his Porsche was a late entry in the Japanese GP and looking at the rest of the grid, largely made up of saloon and smaller sportscars, the phrase ‘Bringing a gun to a knife fight’ springs to mind. However many of those saloons were the new Prince (later Nissan) Skyline GTs and he was kept honest by Ikuzawa in particular. The basic shape and satin silver finish is as we’ve seen on several 904s from Spark and it is the small details, particularly on the decoration with decals replicating race tape, that make this one stand out. Very neatly done and full of life.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
