Honda RA273 F1 1966/1967 #11/12/18 Surtees/Ginther 1:12 by Tamiya

Honda RA273 F1 1966/67 1:12
First re-issued in 2007, Tamiya’s classic Honda makes a welcome reappearance. The original release was way back in 1968 and the kit design has stood the test of time well, with just a few revisions to bring things up to date. There’s plenty of engine and suspension detail in plastic and with this version we see the addition of machined intake trumpets and etched parts for brace facings, grilles, steering wheel centre and oil cooler pipes. Ignition wiring and fuel injection pipes are provided with clear instructions for routing and there are three decal options. Ritchie Ginther ran with #18 at Monza and #12 in the USA and Mexico in 1966, the final race being his best result with fourth. There is also the option of Surtees’ third placed car from the opening race of the 1967 season in South Africa. Unfortunately for these last two events the drivers’ names were on the sides of the cars and although the backing panels for them are included, the names are not. Also, the plated wheels will need painting to change from chrome to the correct gold finish.
