This was a welcome announcement at Nurnberg being the first modern race bike from Tamiya since their 2009 Yamahas and it’s good to see a swift release. Following Tamiya’s tradition with these kits, there is plenty of detail with full engine and chassis components to go beneath the multi-piece bodywork. The kit only offers the bike of championship winner Marc Marquez as the diminutive stature of his team mate Dani Pedrosa means that the latter has a different tank and other details. A multi-colour paint finish will be needed and there are self-adhesive masks included to simplify this aspect of the build. The decals include some of the livery stripes along with a fair few carbon sections.
