Brawn BGP001 1st Australia 2009 #22/23 Button,Barrichello by SilverLine
With Honda’s sudden withdrawal from F1 during the winter closed season,
Technical Director Ross Brawn picked up the reins and Brawn GP was born. In
pre-season testing there was immediately concern among certain teams that the
car was extremely quick and this performance carried through to race pace, with
Jenson Button winning the opening race in Australia and several more since. One
aspect that was controversial was the rear diffuser which was legal, despite the
protestations of other team principals, and this area is one that SilverLine have
paid particular attention to. The kit is all very well thought out and cleanly cast
and it’s great to see the return of clean design on an F1 car without all of the tiny
lumps and bumps. In addition to the driver options for either Button or Barrichello,
kit builders can also choose to depict the car on either the ‘prime’ normal tyre or
the soft options, as the green identifying rings are included on the decals.
