Alfa Romeo 33 V8 Tasman 1980 by Tron
Also available BEE082 - built
This subject is something of a mystery. Tron's own information lists the car as 1971 and 1980, the internet suggests 1970 and our various Alfa Romeo books, including Ed McDonough's Alfa 33 history, make no mention of it at all. The car modelled certainly exists and was apparently raced extensively in Australia before finding its way into the hands of an American collector and the instructions include several photos of it at Pebble Beach concours a few years ago, but that's all we really have. It's a unique car and though the rear looks very similar to the 33/3 monocoque coupe, there are some subtle changes and the front end is completely different. The kit parts check out well with the photos though, they are well made and it should be a simple enough build.
