The official yearbook of the Le Mans 24 Hours is a vital addition to our library each year and the writers, photographers and publishers have excelled themselves this year. In the 90th Anniversary year of the race, the book starts with a very brief celebration of the history and there are interviews with some of the key players behind the scenes. The main focus is, of course, the race itself and the cars that make up the grid so we are introduced to each team in traditional manner and then move on to the very wet practice weekend, through qualifying and then to an hour by hour account of the race. Carefully selected photographs are used to capture all of the drama and significant developments are highlighted as they happen. In 2012 there was a fault with the ACO’s timing equipment so the usual individual race histories for the cars were missing but these are back in their rightful place this time and this is a section that we have always found particularly useful.
