De Tomaso Pantera IMSA 1982 #86 Team Pantera by Arena
De Tomaso Pantera IMSA 1982 #86
This most unusual looking variant of the Pantera raced for several years in IMSA and other US races, initially with its creator Hugh Kleinpeter and then Vic Manuelli. Arena’s packaging suggests that the car is modelled as it was in 1983 but we can only find one race record for that year, when the car crashed badly, but the decoration does look good for Manuelli’s 1982 races. The vivid orange, red and blue striping is all on the decals and the main finish will be a simple acid yellow, which looks almost fluorescent in some photos. Two sets of wheels are included in our sample kit, one finely cast and the other even more delicate using etched centres which are to be folded into shape using a jig which is included.

About Arena
Accurate, well detailed resin kits with white metal ancillaries and excellent photo-etched details. Instructions sometimes slightly vague but normally adequate. Castings on some subjects can be a little rough but more recent releases have all been excellent. Due to the amount of etch, they can be quite fiddly to build but in experienced hands make excellent miniatures. Hand built models also available to order. Made in Italy.
