Jaguar XJS 1st Bathurst 1985 TWR by Automodelli Studio
We've seen these basic parts before as 1984 ETC entries and now we have the kit with clearly printed decals to create several options from 'down under' after the cars ceased to be eligible in the European races. Most builders will probably opt for the winning Bathurst car from 1985 or one of the two sister cars from the same race, but for those looking for something a little different, there are also decals for two cars for the Wellington 500kms race held in the New Zealand capital. The instructions say that this race was in 1987 but official results for the inaugural WTCC round don't include any Jaguars and show some of the drivers here in different cars. From some of the event sponsors, it would appear that the cars are from 1985, though we have no firm information. The decals do match the race photos included with the instructions though. To build the Wellington cars you will need to make a couple of minor adjustments which are noted on the instructions and on any version careful casting preparation will be necessary as the castings have a few pinholes. Worth the effort though.
