Ford Cortina GT 1st Bathurst/Calder 1963 by Automodelli Studio
The Cortina GTs raced by Australian Ford dealers Harry Firth and the Geoghegan brothers were identically finished four door saloons and this saw great competition through the year. Pete Geoghegan took a win at Calder Park and it was Firth who won at Bathurst, joined by Bob Jane. SMTS have created a four-door body specifically for Automodelli, although some of the kit parts such as the interior and photoetch have carried over from their Lotus Cortinas. The Lotus badge will need trimming from the etched grille but otherwise it will be a very straightforward build, whichever race number you choose. One small omission is the lack of GT badges decal to go on the shield that is cast into the rear flanks.

About Automodelli Studio
An interesting range of mostly Australian oriented subjects. Some subjects are based on other makers' castings where suitable (Marsh Models, Jemmpy & SMTS the most commonly used) while others are made entirely in house. Decals often laser or inkjet printed, but still with good bright colours and clarity. Most kits included
a modest amount of etched detailing. Made in Australia
