Morris Mini Cooper S 1st Bathurst 1966 by Automodelli Studio

A Mini Cooper had come close to winning at Bathurst in 1965 but it was the following year and with the arrival of the new 1275 S that outright victory was scored. The next eight cars home were Minis too! An historic victory and the last for a four cylinder car on the mountain until 1988 with the Ford Sierra Cosworth! The first three finishers are offered as options here, based on SMTS’ classic kit. The Australian built Minis had a front quarterlight and wind up windows and a strip of adhesive chrome trims is included to make the quarterlight frame where new etch pieces would have been a neater solution. A colour photo of the winning car is included and for the other two there are images of built models along with written colour information. Roofs on two of the cars are contrasting colours which is no issue as the body is cast with the roof as a separate piece.

About Automodelli Studio

An interesting range of mostly Australian oriented subjects. Some subjects are based on other makers' castings where suitable (Marsh Models, Jemmpy & SMTS the most commonly used) while others are made entirely in house. Decals often laser or inkjet printed, but still with good bright colours and clarity. Most kits included a modest amount of etched detailing. Made in Australia

A dedicated team, we provide the personal touch!
