Aston Martin DB3S Australia LSR 1958 McKay by Automodelli Studio
Aston Martin DB3S Oz LSR 1958
Journalist David McKay used his ex-works DB3S in a number of Australian races and also to set a new Australian Land Speed Record in 1957, his speed of 143.19 mph set on a dirt road! For this record attempt the car was fitted with a streamlined bubble canopy in several pieces, a result of which period reports refer to him being ‘taped in’ as the gaps were sealed. The base kit for this model is from SMTS and the instructions show that an intake scoop must be removed from the nose. That done it should be a simple build with a bright red paint finish, minimal decals and a neat vacform for the top.

About Automodelli Studio
An interesting range of mostly Australian oriented subjects. Some subjects are based on other makers' castings where suitable (Marsh Models, Jemmpy & SMTS the most commonly used) while others are made entirely in house. Decals often laser or inkjet printed, but still with good bright colours and clarity. Most kits included
a modest amount of etched detailing. Made in Australia
