Jaguar XJS GrA BBS Donor Kit by Automodelli Studio
Those who have been collecting and
building 1:43rd kits for a long time and
Jaguars in particular will be familiar
with the name Robustelli, makers of
many transkits and a few kits 15 or
so years ago. The Jaguar XJS was
one of their most popular subjects
and Automodelli Studio have worked
with Gennaro Robustelli on this kit,
the Italian supplying the clearly printed
decals and the photo-etch. The main body and most of the ancillary parts are cast
in resin and though the shape looks just as good as the kits made by Provence
Moulage a few years ago, with similarly crisp engraving and vac-formed windows,
the castings will need a fair amount of preparation. Our sample kits were full of
tiny air bubbles. The kit for the Monza ETC race winner and the first of the base
kits (which have no decals) are on neatly cast metal wheels of the style produced
for TWR. The second base kit has the BBS style wheels and these are made with
machined rims and very fine etched brakes and spoked centres.

About Automodelli Studio
An interesting range of mostly Australian oriented subjects. Some subjects are based on other makers' castings where suitable (Marsh Models, Jemmpy & SMTS the most commonly used) while others are made entirely in house. Decals often laser or inkjet printed, but still with good bright colours and clarity. Most kits included
a modest amount of etched detailing. Made in Australia
