Ferrari 212 Inter Vignale Gmundner52 #73 by BBR
Ferrari 212 Export Inter Vignale Gmundner 1952 #73
German Kurt Zeller took delivery of his Vignale-bodied Ferrari 212 early in 1952 and used it both on the road and in competition for the eighteen months or so that it was in his ownership. The distinctive features of the car were deeply recessed rear lights and slotted vents on the sides of the front wings in place of porthole vents. BBR have modelled the body details very neatly and the two tone blue and champagne paint finish is excellent, as is the application of other fine details. The first competitive outing for the car was the Dutch RAC’s Tulip Rally and BBR list the competition version as from this event. It isn’t (the entry number was 58 in Holland), it is from the Austrian Gmundner Bergrennen and photos of the car in the mountains during this event show that the decal placement is accurate.
