Alfa Romeo SZ (ES30) 1990 Red by BBR Concept43
Released at the 1989 Geneva Motor Show on the Alfa Romeo stand, the S.Z. surprised the public with an sporty line: low to the ground, high at the waist and with a wedge shape that conveyed grit and speed. It is an ambitious project that was born from Alfa Romeo's desire to reaffirm its tradition of rear-wheel drive sports cars. In addition to the novelty of the composite fibres used for the car body, the use of the first design and production systems called CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing) was also completely new.The design was born from the synergy of the Alfa Romeo and Fiat style centres with the projects of Zagato, which ultimately took care of the production of around 1000 units, between 1989 and 1994, some of which, from 1992, in the roadster version called Alfa Romeo RZ.
