Ferrari 250GTO LWB Spider 1962 by Carbone
We know that at least two GTO spiders
have been created and recall from
somewhere that there were three in
total, but are unable to confirm this.
None were really GTOs to start with,
the aluminium bodies being created in
the 1990s and fitted to a shortened 250
GT chassis. The car depicted here is
the most famous of those created as it was for rock band ZZ Top’s Frank Beard.
The windscreen looks a little ungainly on the model but checking on photos of
the real car, it does there too. The overall standard of finish is once again very
good, with excellent paint and neatly applied fine detailing. An attractive model
of the car that Ferrari should have built.
