Phaeton 1933The Phantom II chassis beneath this striking dual-cowl Phaeton body was originally used as a test bed by Rolls Royce and was three years old when sold into private hands in 1933. The car was then bodied in the American dual-cowl style but by London coachbuilders Whittingham & Mitchell before being exported across the Pond. The car appears to have originally been all one colour but it is modelled here as it survives today with a dark metallic grey on the wings and running boards contrasting with the silver main body. The roof is raised and we see wonderfully fine etched framing on this and for the two windscreens. The rear seating area looks particularly snug! The overall finish is excellent and this will be a fine addition to any Rolls Royce collection.
High quality resin & metal hand built models, usually of very rare coachbuilt machines on exotic chassis. Excellent level of finish puts them among the best 1:43 miniatures available. Presentation also very smart, usually with a wooden edged and leatherette insert to the display base. Made in France.
