Peugeot 402 Darl`mat GP/Rally 1949 Set by Esdo
These are slightly unusual releases
from Esdo in that whether looking at
the kit or hand built options, we get
two complete models of the same car
in very different formats. We’ve seen
several versions of the Darl’Mat bodied
Peugeot roadster over the years with
the sweeping mudguards and the car
was in this format as it finished 5th in the Rally d’Evian. For the Grand Prix de
Marseilles, the mudguards were detached and the car raced as an open wheeler.
The kit parts are cleanly cast in hard resin with a few of the small ancillaries in
white metal. The kit instructions are very basic with just photos of the finished
models and another showing the front suspension close up. The kits are very
simple though and we can’t see any problems. The hand builts are neatly finished
with realistic paint finishes and make for an interesting pairing.

Beautifully cast, very simple resin kits and hand-built models. Kits include some white metal parts, minimal photo-etch and basic but useful instructions. Some subjects slightly let down by the rather crude cast wheels. Built models generally well built. Made in France.
