Franco Cortese drove this car throughout the 1947 racing season and enjoyed many successes. It started the year as a 125S with a 1.5 litre engine but at Pescara had been fitted with a two-litre unit and renumbered as the 159S and Cortese finished the race second overall and first in class. The model is cleanly finished and the rather unusual number decals are replicated well. Overall the shape also looks good and it all adds up to make for a very attractive model.
Very well finished low cost hand builts from the Tron stable. Generally speaking, the body shapes are well proportioned, the paintwork excellent and the simple detailing carefully placed. Fine etched wire wheels are used where necessary. Made in Italy.
