This is the first of three volumes in a TVR history planned by Peter Filby. In his forward he says how he got so involved in the depth of the story and finding anecdotes and details that the original single history soon grew too big to print as one and then the competition history will be another book in itself! The story here takes us from Trevor Wilkinson's first specials in the late 1940s, through the founding of TVR and on to the collapse of the company in 1965. It's a very frank account at times and manages to be good humoured at the same time as the fascinating history unfolds. There are a wealth of photographs illustrating the story including plenty of period images of the cars on promotional tours or in competition. These images certainly provide plenty of scope for the adventurous model manufacturer.
