American Legacy in Formula 1 by Book
Weight 1.6kg
This beautifully illustrated history of the American involvement with F1 is the work of the marketing department at the Circuit Of The Americas and is very well done. We start with America’s two World Champions, then on the driver front travel in descending order through race winners and podium finishers until we eventually end up with the drivers who have only tested F1 cars. Several American teams have entered over the years with various levels of success, so they’re next, and then we’re on to innovation in the sport. Claiming the Ford DFV as American is stretching reality rather too far, but we’ll let them have carbon fibre chassis construction and the many driver safety aids from Nomex to the HANS device! finally there are the circuits that have hosted the US GPs over the years, ending with the construction of the excellent Austin TX facility.
