Chevy Powered Drag Racing, Photo Gallery by Book
weight 900g by Lou Hart
Although Chevrolet had first made a V8 engine briefly just after the First World War, it was the introduction of their ‘small block’ in the 1955 model year that was what the hotrodders and drag racers had been waiting for. Made in huge numbers it was cheap, reasonably powerful out of the crate and very tuneable, with a host of aftermarket parts rapidly becoming available. This soft cover book celebrates drag racing with Chevrolet engines from the early hotrod days, through the superstock door slammers of the 1960s and on to the modern day funny cars and top fuelers. There are plenty of dramatic photographs throughout though rather frustratingly, very few of them are in colour and drag racing is a very colourful sport.
