Ferrari Design, The Definitive by Book
With so many books having been written on the history of Ferrari over the years, any author tackling the subject really needs a fresh angle and here we have one. In the forward, classic car enthusiast and rock drummer Nick Mason tells us that though Ferrari may have not been particularly innovative during their history and have made what were some pretty poor cars in among the jewels, they have rarely produced an ugly car and it is from the aesthetic point of view that we are led through Ferrari's history. Along the way we stop off for brief looks at the competition to see how trends formed, with cars such as Jaguar's E Type which brought very high performance motoring to a far wider buying audience, or Lamborghini Miura leading the way with the mid-engined production car. It's all very interesting stuff and is, of course with a book concentrating on design, lavishly illustrated.
