Northeast American Sports Car Races 1950 - 1959 by Book
The North Eastern states of the USA were the birthplace of the Sports Car Club of America and their proximity to the ports around New York meant that they were among the first places to see the new European sports cars as they were imported. Initially races were allowed on public roads but after accidents and fatalities, new venues were sought with courses opening on airfields and a few brave individuals funding permanent, more challenging race circuits. This extremely detailed history includes details of those early tracks, both road and off road, with maps and programmes reproduced. There are a wealth of excellent photos, both in black and white and colour, and very detailed race results. A fascinating insight into a great era of American motorsport.
