The two writers, experts in Maserati and Le Mans history respectively, have brought together a wealth of information and carefully selected photographs to create a very in-depth account of the eight year competition career of the twenty two Maserati 'Birdcages' produced. The main body of the text takes us year by year through all major national and international races contested by the cars from 1959 to 1967, there are production records, individual chassis histories and race reports. Roughly half of the excellent photographs are in colour and it all adds up to make a very impressive publication.
