You might think that the title of this offers a very narrow field of research but the authors have come up with a very detailed and very varied study of a golden period in Morgan’s history. Chris Lawrence is perhaps best known for his tuning of the Triumph TR4 engine found in Morgans of the period and this work obviously features, as do the two assaults on Le Mans which culminated in a class victory. We also go behind the scenes with the team at several other major races, see the development of the streamlined SLR and there is a fascinating round up of racing around the world in period, from Scandinavian ice racing to the heat and dust of Australian hillclimbs. There are plenty of potential modelling subjects among the excellent photos too.
