Brian Redman: Daring Drivers, Deadly Tracks by Book
Brian Redman, Daring Drivers, Deadly Tracks
Weight 2.1kg by Brian Redman & Jim Mulen
Brian Redman’s racing career started in 1959 behind the wheel of a Morris Traveller, a vehicle he used for his job delivering mops but which had acquired a number of performance tweaks. It ended thirty years later behind the wheel of a works Aston Martin at Le Mans. The main focus of this very honest memoir is the period from 1965 to 1975, a time when one in three professional drivers were killed or seriously injured. He survived (just) and recalls a very full racing life with wit and warmth. The photos selected throughout are excellent and highlight the variety of machinery he raced and also the dangers of the time.
