Racing Team VDS, A Story That Never Ends by Book
Weight 1.8kg by Claude Yvens & Christophe A. Gaascht
Count Rudolphe van de Straten-Pontoz founded his racing team in 1964 with Mini Coopers and soon they moved up through all manner of machinery. Those first Minis were turquoise in colour but soon a smart livery of red with blue and white stripes became a familiar sight all over the world. This lavishly illustrated history concentrates mainly on the first thirty years, taking us to major sports car events, Can-Am, Interserie, Indy races and much more. The story continues with later generations and there is a brief roundup of the two VDS teams still out there at the end, the Marc VDS set up in particular looking like it could be worth a book of its own in future! French & English text.
