Whenever we see the name of German photographer Rainer Schlegelmilch on the cover of a book we know we’re in for a visual treat. For fifty years he has been following Formula 1 and his shots capture the action of the sport superbly. He also has a significant archive of the works of others and this has been drawn on for some of the earlier entries in this book. There have been thirty two F1 World Champions since 1950 and they are the focus here. The chapters are ordered chronologically based on each driver’s first championship and along with a brief career resume in both German and English we are then treated to a selection of carefully chosen images for each winning season. A great insight into the very different people who have held that trophy and also a visual history of the development of the Grand Prix car.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
