24h Nurburgring - Die Geschichte Der Ersten 40 Rennen [German] by Book
24hr Nurburgring, Die Geschichte Der Ersten 40 Rennen
Weight 2.7kg by Wilfried Muller & Jorg Ufer
Le Mans may be the premier 24 hour race on the calendar, but the one which attracts the largest entry and the largest number of spectators is a few weeks earlier on the full, big boys’, Nurburgring combined circuit. The race has always attracted a huge variety of machinery and drivers, from top works touring car (and now GT) teams to enthusiastic amateurs in small capacity saloon cars. The first race attracted 99 entries and the largest entry was 224 in 2007, though each year there are usually a handful who don’t quite make the start. It would be a work of multiple volumes to illustrate every one of those cars but this German text does have complete results from every one of the 40 races that took place between 1970 and 2012 (there was no race in 1975 or ‘76). There are carefully selected photos throughout highlighting the diversity of the entrants and the action on and off the track and most of those images are in colour. As well as the individual races, certain personalities are also highlighted. GERMAN TEXT.
