Much paper has been given over to the general history of the Mile Miglia and the battles for the overall lead, but this classic race was about something much more than the couple of dozen Ferraris, Maseratis, Mercedes etc fighting for overall victory. There were also hundreds of professionals and amateurs in smaller capacity machines who helped to make the race what it was. The author has taken on the massive task of recording all of these intrepid racers here and has managed not only to find photographs of the vast majority of the cars in action, but has also reproduced the entry forms where still available and their timings at the various checkpoints.
