Detailed photographs under the skin of the modern F1 car are very rare as the teams guard their technology from prying eyes and so for many years we have relied on the inspired technical drawings of Giorgio Piola to explain the complexities of the machines. With a shift to turbo-charged hybrid engines for 2014 there is plenty of new technology to be discussed and Piola conveys the information in fine style. There are a few typos in the translation to English but these don’t detract from the excellent images. A must for the serious F1 detail modeller.
