Dallara: E’ Una Bella Storia / It's A Beautiful Story by Book
Nestling in the countryside just outside Parma is an unassuming single story factory complex, home to one of the most successful racing car factories in the world, that of Gian Paolo Dallara. Dallara’s working life started a dozen or so years before he founded his own company, when he joined Ferrari straight from university. From here he crossed the road to Maserati and here the racing bug bit hard. After a period at Lamborghini, where he was responsible for the Miura among other projects, he set up on his own creating sports-racing and single seater competition cars under his own banner and also working as a consulting engineering company to many manufacturers. The Parma factory has produced a huge number of Indy winners, F3 champions and sportscars including Lancia’s LC1, LC2 & MonteCarlo Turbos, Ferrari’s 333SP, the aerodynamics on Toyota’s GT1 were Dallara’s work, as were the Oreca Le Mans prototypes. The list is huge and this well written and beautifully illustrated history tells the story from those early days at Ferrari to the latest Indycars.
