This little book has been illustrated by a petrolhead: The illustrator, a local artist known as ABmotorART, has painted all the cars that won the major races held in Sarthe, his birthplace, during the 20th and 21st centuries. For the sake of completeness, he included the cars from 1966 and 1967 that finished second in the most thrilling races of the 20th century, as well as those featured in the films that chronicled their history, and the pioneering car from 1906.
