Connaught J3 Godiva Climax 1956 Project by Jade Miniatures
Connaught J3 Godiva Climax 1955 Project
Hand built available JAD43136M
A mid-engined Formula 1 car first appeared on the drawing board at Connaught in 1953 and was made public as an artist’s impression in a feature in Autosport in December of that year, the machine being a proposal for the 1955 season. The abandoning of the Godiva V8 by Coventry Climax meant that the project was shelved and then when revisited in ‘55 there wasn’t the funding available. The drawings show wire wheels and the specification mentions Dunlop wheels and it is the disc style that Jade have chosen to include in the kit. The basic shape looks good when compared with the drawings and the simple resin parts are cleanly cast. Decals are included for a fictitious #7 (Moss) entry with a choice of nose colour and it’s a fun ‘what if?’ project.

About Jade Miniatures
A well established range of well thought out kits and hand built models of competition cars, mostly from the golden era of the 1950s and 60s. The kits are generally pretty simple with well cast resin bodies, small numbers of resin and white metal ancillaries and a modest amount of etch. In the case of open wheeled subjects, the etch usually includes most or all of the suspension. Hand builts generally well finished. Made in France.
