Gordini T16 France 1954 #28 Frere by Jade Miniatures
Kit available JAD4356 Also several other hand builts
The kit for these models was released some years ago now but with so many built options it has taken a while to see some of them! The basic shape of the six-cylinder Gordini is well captured and the models are well finished but on this batch we do have a small query about the track width which looks very narrow, particularly on the front, and the rear tyres appear to be a little on the large side. The combined effect is to make them look a little like hot rods! A shame because the paintwork is excellent and the decals neatly applied. The cars didn’t have a great finishing record on their long career, Frere retiring with axle failure in France and Manzon crashing at Monaco a couple of years later.

About Jade Miniatures
A well established range of well thought out kits and hand built models of competition cars, mostly from the golden era of the 1950s and 60s. The kits are generally pretty simple with well cast resin bodies, small numbers of resin and white metal ancillaries and a modest amount of etch. In the case of open wheeled subjects, the etch usually includes most or all of the suspension. Hand builts generally well finished. Made in France.
