Cooper T46 Streamliner Sstone/Reims 1959 by Jade Miniatures
Although enjoying plenty of success with open wheeled cars in 1959, the Cooper team experimented with fully enclosed versions of the their F1 and F2 cars. The first test was at a very wet Silverstone and the second saw Jack Brabham driving in near perfect conditions at Reims. Unfortunately the car was somewhat unstable at speed with the nose reportedly lifting at at 180mph and the cornering described by Brabham as 'squirrely', so the project was scrapped. The kit parts are in Jade's typical simple style, with a cleanly cast resin body, resin base plate, vac-formed windscreen and well printed decals. Our sample had both resin and metal wheels included which means there will be some spares, though we guess that this may be a packing error as the instructions only show the resin set.

About Jade Miniatures
A well established range of well thought out kits and hand built models of competition cars, mostly from the golden era of the 1950s and 60s. The kits are generally pretty simple with well cast resin bodies, small numbers of resin and white metal ancillaries and a modest amount of etch. In the case of open wheeled subjects, the etch usually includes most or all of the suspension. Hand builts generally well finished. Made in France.
