Porsche 718/8 Spyder 7th Targa 1962 #156 by Jade Miniatures

Kit JAD4364 & many other built options also available
These are just two of eleven options offered in Jade’s kit of the Porsche 718/8 and the models as they sit here are well finished. When we went in search of photos, the first images of the Targa Florio version showed a number of detail errors, some minor, one less so. The wheels could do with a slightly deeper rim on them, which is minor, as is the misplacement of the front number plate but we were thinking that there there is no excuse for leaving out the rollover bar. We challenged Jade on this and a photo came straight back showing the car on the same event as it appears here, with the number plate set further back and no rollover bar. Further digging and we found more images with it in the same format. At least one of these pictures must be from practice, but we’re unsure which. A couple of years later and the rollover bar appears to be a permanent fixture on various events including at Mont Ventoux.

About Jade Miniatures

A well established range of well thought out kits and hand built models of competition cars, mostly from the golden era of the 1950s and 60s. The kits are generally pretty simple with well cast resin bodies, small numbers of resin and white metal ancillaries and a modest amount of etch. In the case of open wheeled subjects, the etch usually includes most or all of the suspension. Hand builts generally well finished. Made in France.
