Porsche 718/8 Spyder Sebring 1964 #41 by Jade Miniatures
Kit - JAD4364 - and many other hand builts also available
These eight cylinder spiders appeared in a number of events during 1963 and 1964, alongside various factory entered 718 and 904 coupes in most of the bigger events. They didn’t enjoy huge success though, mechanical issues dropping them out of the running very often. At Le Mans in 1963 the car suffered a driveshaft failure which saw it limp into the pits on three wheels, but repairs were made and it recovered to finish eighth. Sebring also saw a finish, albeit well down in twentieth position and on the Targa Florio it retired. The models are all very similar in terms of details and finish, with just race numbers setting them apart. There’s a modest amount of etch used and the paint is good throughout. The full set of these cars will make a very impressive display.

About Jade Miniatures
A well established range of well thought out kits and hand built models of competition cars, mostly from the golden era of the 1950s and 60s. The kits are generally pretty simple with well cast resin bodies, small numbers of resin and white metal ancillaries and a modest amount of etch. In the case of open wheeled subjects, the etch usually includes most or all of the suspension. Hand builts generally well finished. Made in France.
