Deho Simca 8 Roadster 1938 by Jade Miniatures
Hand built available JADC4310M
Roger Deho, like the more famous Amedee Gordini, recognised the potential of the Fiat based Simca 8 and made a number of lightweight racers based on the Simca chassis. His engine modifications almost doubled the power output and they were lively performers. The car modelled here was spotted by Jean Damon of Jade at an historic race meeting some years ago and the car is depicted as it is now. There were a number of similar, but subtly different bodies made and some sources attribute the shape to the illustrator Geo Ham. The shape of the model compares well with Jean’s reference photos, although we don’t know what the exact machine did in terms of competition when new.

About Jade Miniatures
A well established range of well thought out kits and hand built models of competition cars, mostly from the golden era of the 1950s and 60s. The kits are generally pretty simple with well cast resin bodies, small numbers of resin and white metal ancillaries and a modest amount of etch. In the case of open wheeled subjects, the etch usually includes most or all of the suspension. Hand builts generally well finished. Made in France.
