Sunbeam Alpine Le Mans 1961 #35 Hopkirk/Jopp by K & R Replicas
The Rootes factory entered two Sunbeam Alpines at Le Mans in 1961, a Harrington coupe and this standard bodied machine with factory hardtop. The kit is effectively K&R’s standard Series 2 Alpine road car complete with left and right hand drive dashboards and with the windscreen frame and hardtop as separate castings. There are etched parts for the spokes of the kit form wire wheels and also for some small badges and the decals are clearly printed. The decals are lacking the small Union Jack flags to go on the flanks of the car though, so a little spares box digging will be needed.

About K & R Replicas
Well cast and easy to build, if rather crude, metal kits. Usually accurate though occasionally a bit odd. Wire wheels of the self - assembly type. Decals, when included, often slightly yellow (typical of many English makers) but will bleach with exposure to u.v. light. Now including a little more photo-etch. Made in England.
