MG A Roadster Sebring 1960 #38/39/40 Works by K & R Replicas
MG A Roadster Sebring 12 Hours 1960 Works
The basic shape of K&R’s MG A is pretty good but care will be needed to get a good fit of the separate hard top and the windscreen. BMC’s American arm entered three MG As for Sebring in 1960 and this kit offers, in theory, all three of them. Cars #39 & #40 finished third and fourth in class respectively, while #38 only lasted three laps before the engine expired and curiously it is the non-finisher which is illustrated in the instructions. We are told that car #39 had twin stripes along the centre line of the body and that #40 had a single stripe, but photos that we’ve found also show a white flash on the side of the rear wing for the latter and no stripe on #39 (though that one might be a practice shot). There is also a discrepancy between the instructions and the decals on the registration plates and only one is included for each car.

About K & R Replicas
Well cast and easy to build, if rather crude, metal kits. Usually accurate though occasionally a bit odd. Wire wheels of the self - assembly type. Decals, when included, often slightly yellow (typical of many English makers) but will bleach with exposure to u.v. light. Now including a little more photo-etch. Made in England.
