Ferrari 500 1st Argentina 1953 by K & R Replicas
These two kits are based around the same components, with clean metal castings, kit form wire wheels and clearly printed decals and they offer several options between them. The opening World Championship race of the season was in Buenos Aires and saw Ascari win from Villoresi with Hawthorn in fourth position. The fourth Ferrari entered was for Farina who withdrew after an accident which saw his car crash into the crowd killing several spectators. All four of these cars are offered on the decal sheet, though we suspect that most will go for the winner. The Daily Express Trophy at Silverstone was a non-championship event but it still attracted a large and competitive entry, Hawthorn winning his heat and the final, his first wins for Ferrari and a few weeks before his first Grand Prix victory. This kit offers just the one option.

About K & R Replicas
Well cast and easy to build, if rather crude, metal kits. Usually accurate though occasionally a bit odd. Wire wheels of the self - assembly type. Decals, when included, often slightly yellow (typical of many English makers) but will bleach with exposure to u.v. light. Now including a little more photo-etch. Made in England.
