Kawasaki 1400GTR 2009 by MEA Kit 43
This is a slightly random subject for MEA to be making and we’re guessing that Bruno Mea perhaps rides one of these large touring machines himself. These small scale motorcycles are always a little fiddly, simply due to their size and there is a fair degree of modelling skill required, even if the kit has relatively few parts. The rear suspension is cast into the frame, so some very fine detail painting is needed here. The front forks are separate metal castings though and there are etched parts to go on either end of these for the handlebars and the brake discs. More etch is included for the mounting brackets for the top box and rear panniers (which are there, but no shown on the picture in the instructions).

About MEA Kit 43
An interesting range initially specialising in 1:43 motorcycles. The nature of the subjects and the size of many of the parts mean that these are best suited to those with good eyesight! Casting quality is variable and this combined with the size puts them firmly in the 'for the experienced modeller' category.
Alongside the bikes are a number of Dakar raid subjects and early Lotus race cars, again offered as kits and hand builts. The SPL series is hand built only and concentrates on very unusual race cars. Build quality is basic, variable and nowhere near the class leaders and usually presented in recycled Spark cases. Very interesting subjects that may otherwise not be modelled and therefore for the hardcore collector.
Made in France.
