Healey Sprite Le Mans 1964 #53 Baker/Bradley by MEA Kit 43
Austin Healey Sprites appeared at Le Mans for most of the races in the 1960s and all were experimental cars with special lightweight bodywork, which meant that the 1000cc machines were in the up to 3-litre prototype class (as were many other 'tiddlers')! This 1964 entry driven by Clive Baker and Bill Bradley finished a respectable 24th overall and is a subject which has very rarely been modelled. Bruno Mea has captured the basic shape and spirit of the car well and as usual for this range, it has a rustic charm.

About MEA Kit 43
An interesting range initially specialising in 1:43 motorcycles. The nature of the subjects and the size of many of the parts mean that these are best suited to those with good eyesight! Casting quality can be variable and this combined with the size puts them firmly in the 'for the experienced modeller' category.
Alongside the bikes are a number of Dakar raid subjects and early Lotus race cars, again offered as kits and hand builts. SPL series are hand built only and concentrate on very unusual race cars. Build quality is variable, basic and nowhere near the class leaders. They are usually presented in recycled Spark cases. Very interesting subject matter though.
Made in France.
