Jaguar D Santa Barbara 1956 #15 Krause by Marsh Models
Marsh Models have worked with SMTS to create these models and the main
bodyshells have their roots in the latter's metal kits which will ensure consistency
of scale in those Jaguar collections. There have been revisions though to capture
the precise details of the cars modelled and the castings are now in Marsh’s
typical very clean resin. At first we were a little concerned that the lower body
was rather narrower than the upper section but there are small resin inserts to
fill the sides out and these allow Marsh to simply change small details such as
brake cooling scoops and exhaust fairings. Both cars enjoyed some success in
national races in the USA during the late 1950s and it is the Billy Krause car that
really grabs the eye. The colour scheme is fantastic and Marsh have done a very
good job of modelling it. The first kit offers two build options, both apparently
race winners and differing only in the numbers. Pearce Wood’s car was rather
more conservatively painted in cream and in the race version depicted here the
nose was painted in a beige colour, so a simple mask and two-tone finish will be
needed. The hand builts show that all will go together well and make fabulous
looking models. Very interesting and unusual Jaguar subjects.

About Marsh Models
Well established maker of high quality 1:43 kits and hand-built models. Kits feature very precisely moulded resin bodies requiring minimal clean up, equally good white metal ancillary parts, very fine photo-etching where necessary, machined wheel rims, bespoke resin tyres and clearly printed decals. Instructions usually a clearly drawn exploded diagram and often include a sample paint chip if the main body colour is an unusual one. Hand-builts beautifully built and detailed, usually from a series of 100 pieces but LE range typically from only 25. Made in England
