J7W2 Shinden Kai Aeroplane 1:72 by Marsh Models Aerotech
When Marsh Models started their
Aerotech range a few years ago the
first releases were 1:72nd scale models
of WW2 fighter aircraft designs that
never got off the drawing board. After
a number of larger scale competition
planes we return to that original game
plan with this very unusual looking
Japanese design. The Kyushu company did build a similar aircraft with a rear
pusher piston engine but it only did one test flight before the war ended and this
design, with a jet engine in the rear was not built. Judging accuracy is therefore
very difficult but the parts are very well cast with fine etched detail for the jet
turbine and cleanly cast resin and white metal for the rest.

About Marsh Models Aerotech
Very well cast multi-media aircraft kits. 1:32nd scale concentrating on racing aircraft and 1:72nd on Axis fighters which didn't make it off the drawing board at the end of WW2. typical kit contents will see resin for the main fuselage and wings, with a mix of resin and white metal for small parts and thoughtful use of photo-etch, such as surface radiators and wing bracing wires on many of the Schneider trophy subjects. Made in England.
