Rolls Royce Phantom V 1965 John Lennon 1:18 by Paragon Models
Rolls Royce Phantom V 1965 John Lennon
John Lennon took delivery of this Rolls Royce brand new in 1965 and for the first few months of his ownership it looked much like any other externally, though inside he had the rear seat converted so that it folded out into a double bed. The car was extensively used by Lennon and the other Beatles and was briefly painted matt black, grille and all, while driven in Spain for filming in 1966. In 1967 the idea of this vivid psychedelic livery was hatched and the work was entrusted to the Dutch Gypsy artist collective known as ‘Fool’. The decoration on the model is very well done with a mix of painted panels, decals and tampo-prints. The doors, boot and two-piece bonnet all open to reveal plenty of detail beneath and overall it makes for a very impressive and imposing model.
