Maserati 250F 1955 Collins/1956 Brabham by Renaissance

Hand built available REN4329HMC Collins REN4329HMB Brabham
The Owen Organisation initially took delivery of Maserati chassis 2509 in June 1954 but an accident when they were borrowing Bira’s similar car (2504) saw the two machines and their chassis numbers swapped! Historians generally refer to the Owen car now as 2504/09 and here we see it as raced in 1955 and 1956. Peter Collins drove the car in selected races early in ‘55, before switching to the new BRM P25 after the British GP where he failed to finish. The car was sold to Jack Brabham for 1956 and he enjoyed mixed results, with a best finish of third in the Aintree 200. The car was distinctive from other 250Fs in the fitment of Dunlop disc wheels and disc brakes.

About Renaissance

Excellent kits and conversion sets (for plastic) using resin bodies, white metal parts, lots of very fine photo-etching and good decals. Some castings need cleaning. Excellent instructions. Classic subjects (REN43 refs) are relatively simple builds, while the Integral series (RENI) of more modern subjects are a little more complex. Made in France
